I have a friend that lives a long way from me,about 700 miles away! And she posted on Facebook night before last that the lid was stuck on the pan her dinner was in. I called her and she said that she was cooking a double batch of tuna helper and she went to take the lid off the pan and it wouldn't come off. She turned the heat back on to see if that would jolt it....... NOPE!!!!!!! She then put it in the freezer for a half an hour and that didn't work either! She was hungry and mad. She had these pans for a long time and never had this problem.Matter of fact I have never had that problem either. When I talked to her she was going to put it in the refrigerator overnight to see if that worked. I have not talked to her since, so I don't know. Have you ever had this happen to you? What did you do?

I never had this problem, if steam formed inside it sealed the lid, she must pride to open.

Which is it, boiling water or freezing water that's supposed to help you pop a seal? I know when I had a stuck lid on a jar of coconut oil, I set it in boiling water.

There wasn’t a bigger pan to boil it in. She tried turning the heat bag on, didn’t work!

@dfollin I meant pouring boiling water onto the lid. Take it off the heat and over the sink, then pour the boiling water around the "seams" of the pan.

I've never had that problem. I hope she can get the lid off.

I have no idea other than soaking the pan in the sink with some hot water and trying to loosen the gunk that way.
