Happy National Animal Cracker Day!! I love animal crackers it brings back lots of memories and even my kids eat them including the gluten free one. Yes they do make gluten free animal crackers.
Here is a little animal cracker history for. In the 1800’s animal shaped cookies made there way to the US from England. In 1902 animal crackers officially became “Barnum’s Animals” which helped evokes the familiar circus theme of Barnum and Bailey. Later on in that year they added strings to the boxes so you could hang them to Christmas trees as decorations. Of course kids love this because it’s easy for them to carry around.

It was a big circus way back when. It’s much smaller now.
