Time to "shape up" with a trivia series of terrific tunes with an exercise term in the title.
In the world of exercise another way to gain a hardbody and become fit is to work out on weightlifting apparatus designed to build up those muscles. So, why not introduce this lineup of tunes with The Beatles "We Can Work It Out. Although I believe the Fab Four were not talking about exercise
Hope you enjoyed that musical video. And now it's quiz time!
Whodunnit? Do you know these songs and artists?
1. The members of this Canadian American roots rock group originally played under a different name. You could say the group named themselves after a bird which hunts prey, but although it makes for a great clue it's not true. One of the distinctive characteristics of this band was their three lead vocalists. They became associated and played with a famous folk-singer from Minnesota. Our group's trivia song tells the story of a guy who visits Nazareth, and is asked by his friend Annie to visit several of her friends.
Fun Fact: The rock group Nazareth got their name from this line in the tune, ("Went down to Nazareth, I was feeling about half past dead...").
2. This English artist was miscast as part of the Punk Rock movement like the Sex Pistols, although in retrospect he is now seen as an intelligent and gifted songwriter. This image was fostered by onstage rudeness and evasion of the press. The artist stuck a famous pose for the cover of one of his album's that strikingly resembled Buddy Holly. The big glasses and his knees bent inward became an iconic look for him. While working for a cosmetics company in the 70's and struggling to make it in the music industry, the artist was still aiming and hopeful for a successful career as a musician. The singer's trivia song from the his second album features a double meaning in the title. That title could describe turning up the volume on the music or a reference to a sexual frustration act (my apologies there).
Fun fact: Future members of Huey Lewis and the News played on this artist's 1977 album...
Video Bonus: "We Can Work It Out" was written by Paul McCartney for his then girlfriend at the time. Do you know the name of the person he was dating? Clue: She was the sister of a British producer, manager, and one member of a successful pop duo of the 60's.
Ok, time to "fit the bill" and answer the trivia quiz!
If your stuck and need additional help just let me know in your response. You can "lean on me" if more clues are needed. As always, thanks for reading and responding to my music post !!!!

Ha Felix! You are right about the bonus my friend
Now don't throw a "fit" but the answer to #2 was Pump It Up- Elvis Costello... After all a good workout should include a little pump up with the weights. And by the way as me and my friend Meatloaf would always say....

1. Always wondered why Rick Danko sang one verse in that song. Of course, he sang lead in “This Wheel’s on Fire,” which I used in my “fire” countdown.
2. Declan! Love me some Declan!! And Fredo loves his wife, Diana Krell.
Bonus: oh, that Paul. Dating Peter of Peter & Gordon’s sister, I guess no hard feelings, because Peter produced Linda Ronstadt, and Linda recorded Buddy Holly songs....and guess who owns the rights to them?

Who says your clueless when it comes to music trivia? Not I Great additional comments Four Walls! Ah yes, Diana is one pretty Jazzy Canadian
Is Paul, Jane, Peter, Gordon, Buddy and Linda some sort of Kevin Bacon "six degrees of separation" concept or what
Most groups are lucky to have one really good lead singer The Band had three. Fun Fact: as you mentioned Danko was lead on "Wheels on Fire" and The Band members co-wrote that tune with you guessed it Bob Dylan
