Hello everyone.
Yesterday past 5 in the afternoon, there was an earthquake in our country. Though the epicenter in up north far from where we are, the intensity was 5.7.
Me and my daughter is chatting on the dining room. I was standing near the kitchen backdoor when I noticed the lights of the dining room swaying like crazy. I was thinking at first if it was the fan causing the movement but of course I figured it was not the fan. I sat down across my daughter and calmly told her I think there is an earthquake. Just then I heard the back door in the kitchen (like a barn door) slightly banging the wall.
We sat still but we did not feel any. Then the movement of the lights and door stops gradually.
I thank God we are safe.

It was scary. I was shocked yesterday. I was alone in the apartment. I did not move I just prayed aloud.

Many times I have heard on the news or social media that an earthquake happened in our area, but often I don't feel them (but the big ones, yes!). Thank goodness you were all safe . . . I hope the people who were in and near the epicenter were ok too!

I do not know if global warming got something to do with it.

I have experienced an earthquake here in Jerusalem a few years ago. I was in a class that was held in the bomb shelter and all of a sudden things started to move. All I could think of was my cat at home alone and if she was frightened. We were ok and went outside and things seemed to be ok. When I got home things were fine and my cat was fine too. I will never forget that experience. That was my first time in an Earthquake. We have experienced others in the country sine then but not in Jerusalem.

@rakski Yes that is possible, it happened to me before when I was inside Robinsons Mall. I just noticed that everyone seems to be in hurry and I asked why and they said they just felt an earthquake.
