Leaving Clearwater Beach

Happy Tuesday and how is everybody? Just thought it would be fun to check in. It’s 1022a here in the Tampa airport. Just waiting for our flight to board in about 30 minutes and then it is back to Minneapolis I go! We had fun. Got 20,000 steps in every day walking around the beach, the Mandalay Avenue, shopping and doing whatever. Here are some highlights: *Clearwater Aquarium - super cool. We got discounted tickets ($13 each) for going after 4PM. Essentially they rehabilitate injured animals and then return them to their natural habitat. Or if they are not up for returning to the wild, they become permanent residents there. You can pet sting rays, watch a dolphin show, and some they stuff. *Boat Ride - I have never done this but we were right next to a marina. For about $25 you got an hour and 10 minute ride on a boat where you can sometimes see dolphins riding with the wake of the boat (We saw a mom and baby- super cute!) My mom is really into dolphins and I think she enjoyed that a lot. *Pier 60 - Sugar Sand Festival. Pier 60 is Clearwater Beach’s fun pier on the north beach. They have a Ferris wheel, some entertainment and this whole week a “Sugar Sand Festival” which was a bunch of vendors on and around the pier. I got a smoothie, some kettle corn and a bunch of natural home made soaps. Awesome! Our AIRBNB condo was literally 50-100 steps off the beach. Which was amazing! It was super clean and cute with a kitchen, but one disgusting thing- I woke up on the couch I had been sleeping on, without my glasses and saw this LARGE (like the size of a baby carrot) -looking black thing moving right were I was sleeping. It was a giant cock roach! I bet this is just a fact of life for some, but I was super disturbed by it. We just do not have that up at home. All in all, I enjoyed the trip, and my mom had fun! I am feeling ready to go back to work tomorrow at 2p. How has your week been so far?
