Leftovers for lunch today

Use left over foods

Have realized there was a little of too many things in the fridge today. A little bit of mutton that I had made yesterday for dinner. A brinjal vegetable that I had made for my lunch to work in the morning yesterday. And a bit of fish that was made on Thursday night. So have just made rice now and will have it with the leftovers. No single dish is enough to be had with the rice so I will have to have all three. What do you do with the left over food? Give it to the maids, throw it away or eat it later like me? I eat leftovers, we never gave leftover to the maid when my parents had one, she would have considered this an insult.

Here in our country its common to give left over food to maids. Infact many of them wait to get food for their families.

@mayka123 I think in none of the European countries this would be acceptable. In our days only very wealthy families have a maid here in Europe, they are very well paid, they would be more than offended to receive leftovers.

@MALUSE I can very well understand how it works there, but they seem to refuse to understand that in our countries it does not work the same way.

I only make enough for us, even if anything left then it will use for the next meal. I try not to throw anything.

Since I am alone to eat I can never finish everything. However little I cook I am always left with some leftovers.

@mayka123 It is difficult to prepare food for one person alone. There will be left over for sure. I am glad you make separate meals for different times. You are not lazy.

@Sreekala I am lazy but I dont like eating hotel food everyday and I like proper meals. Not just snacks at meal times. So then I have no option but to cook. I also dont like repeating the menu so when buying veggies and meat I buy small quantities just enough for a meal or two.

Depending on the type of food, I can even put some food in the freezer

I don't like keeping/eating leftovers. I plan the amount of food I cook that's good enough.
