This morning while running around the internet I found an article about drinking water. It was talking about the pro's and con's of drinking it cold or warm. I was a tad surprised that there is a little bit of controversy about the temperature your drinking water should be. I mean, isn't water, water.
One factor believes that drinking warm water helps digestion. They believe that cold water slows down digestion.
Cold water people believe that drinking it cold can help burn more calories.
Apparently in the end the research did not prove either side correct. Either way it is most important to drink the water.
I, myself, like my water cold. How about you? Are you a cold water or warm water drinker?

I drink it both ways and not because I'm trying to benefit my body in the ways depicted above. When it's especially hot out I do like it colder, but that's not always feasible. I always take water with me, but rarely do I include an ice pack or cooler with ice in it. Therefore, my water warms up as the day progresses. But, when I can use someone's sink to replenish my water bottle, then I can get it a bit colder for a bit.
I have learned that on scorching hot days when the heat index is atrocious that it's better not to drink ice cold water as it can be worse for your body's health. But those days are a rarity.

@LadyDuck
Even I do not add ice to water. And even I do not drink the refrigerated cold water fully but mix with the room temperature water.

I love drinking water. I have heard about the results of drinking water in different temperatures, but I don't think they're true. I like it warm, most times, but when I am working out and I am way thristy I love it cold. At the end of the day the most important thing is to boil water before consuming.

Most of the texts I have read or heard about talk about the advantages of warm water.
In summers, cold water can be useful in some cases when we have indigestion. Bug else, cold water does not seems useful.

@HazySue I prefer cold, but never end up drinking it cold unless I am out, and it has ice.

Interesting. I have read too cold water is not best to swallow pills with if you have acid reflux disease. It makes it harder to swallow.
I still prefer cold to lukewarm.

I am a cold water drinker. That being said, at work I fill my 32 ounce tumbler and sip on it. It is cold to start, but gets warmer as time goes on. I drink them both. I think so long as I get my water intake cold or warm...it is better than NOT getting my water at all.
