Our best friends from our place up north are at their condo here in sunny Florida. We had a fabulous time with them last night at a wonderful restaurant and caught up with goings on.
Our friends have a home which is a street away from our home up north and our younger son’s new house, pictured in the photo. By the way, that huge dead tree is long gone along with over 85 other dead trees.
Our friend was so helpful in recommending a fuel oil company and new oil tanks to our son. Our friend owns a plumbing supply company and has many contacts. Our son went with our friend’s recommendation for fuel, since they both have two huge oil tanks which take a lot of oil.
Since then, our son signed up that oil company for advertising with his business. In exchange, he will receive free oil to heat his large house and propane gas, and to top that off, our friends will, too. If we change oil companies, which we will, we will also receive free oil and propane as well!
That’s what friends and family do for each other.

@DianneN I had to discuss with Hubby before I came to comment again before I sounded too stupid . We do heat our home and have a gas stove, etc, but that is natural gas . . . we don't have a big holding tank but a main pipe line from the city utility system (I don't know if I'm wording that right). Water too - from a main pipe line - no water wells. No propane or oil tanks here, but propane for a bbq we'd go fill up a small tank for that. Maybe I'm on a different planet .

@much2say I now understand!. Our son had natural gas at his other house. We used to get our gas BBQ canisters filled with propane somewhere, but had a gas fireplace put in a couple of years ago. To do that for us, we had a large propane tank put in, and they also wired our grill with a line. We have a well for water up north, At least we both know what we have in our homes.

You are hilarious! Do you ever need to heat your home? The propane will be used for the barbecue grill, and eventually the clothes dryer and water else my son has in store. He had two giant cannisters placed in his yard and is thinking of either hiding them or having them buried.

It sure is different in the northeast, down here in the southwest most of us are using natural gas and electricity to heat our homes or cook.
I suppose some people in the county who live trailer parks still use propane to heat their homes but luckily for me I use only electricity.

That work good deal!! In the North most people have furnaces, but in the South heat pumps are the rage. However, my friend uses oil heat.

Oil heat is a fortune. Our son’s other home was heated by gas, which was so much cheaper than oil.
We have to keep the furnace on all winter in CT so the pipes won’t burst while we are in Florida.
We do have electric heat in our condo, but never had to use it, yet!

@SIMPLYD I don't know if they provide that type of fuel (gasoline), but they provide home heating oil which the Northeast depends on for heating most homes. Thanks to our son, they are now carrying propane, a gas, to fuel gas barbecue grill, gas fireplaces, entire homes, etc....

@wolfgirl569 My son cleans it constantly. He's a neat freak and won't even let our cleaning lady touch it. He just had a furniture delivery today for his sitting room. We were FaceTiming a little while ago, and I asked him if Doodles jumped on the new chairs. He told me that he hadn't, so he picked up Doodles, put him on a chair, and after sniffing every bit of it, Doodles jumped off and jumped onto his kitty gym. Even the cat won't make the house dirty.

I'm so glad your friend helped your younger son, select a worthwhile oil company for service. Plus, you will be able to switch oil companies, which is a giant savings for you, also! Friends helping friends, that's how it's suppose to be.

@DianneN When there's only one business providing a service, they can overcharge as they please. With this new company stirring up competition, the other one will merit some loss.

@DianneN How that? I do not understand why you're getting it heated when you're not here?
It's great that a new tree will be planted, it's kind of nice looking at that place

@LowRiderX It gets so cold up north that we must leave the heat on all winter so the pipes don't freeze and burst.
Thank you. Many new trees will be planted.

@DianneN Ahhh Ok now I understand. The tree was always good and I talked with my husband some days ago so that we could plant some trees because we have a lot of land (not here in the city, but in the village from where my father is, about 200km from Belgrade)
