I think this is a sage plant, but I'm not sure. It's growing next to the main entrance to the prescool where I currently work.
I start singing and old Simon and Garfunkel song whenever I see it, but i'm not sure if it's sage or rosemary.
When I squished some of the tiny leaves between my fingers, it smelled really good.
From what I've read (correct me if you know differently), both sage and rosemary are good for seasoning cooking, and both are tolerant of hot, drought-prone, environments.
Do you recognize these?

It looks like lavender to me. I have been thinking of growing some as it is supposed to help repel bugs.

@TheHorse I'm sure it's Spanish/French lavender. expand both your photo and the one of mine I labeled lavender and I think you will agree. It's gorgeous right now and I see it had babies after the rain and is spreading. I'm delighted.

It looks like Rosemary to me but I'm kind of far away to have a good look.
If I'm right then I dedicate this song to you and your beautiful plants.

@TheHorse I don't remember lavender being in the song so cross it off the list.

Does it smell like rosemary? The leaves look like rosemary.
I know its not sage I have sage growing here. the leaves of sage are roundish-oblong and thick, with a covering of like velvet, you would know the smell.

@Michellekidwell I'm leaning toward lavender now. I saw some for sale at TJ's yesterday evening and it looked a lot like what we have at the school.

It looks like some form of lavender to me. Lavender is supposed to calm you down, kids too. It could be a variety of rosemary. Sage has larger leaves. These look more like needles. Both sage and rosemary are great culinary herbs. Rosemary is for "remembrance" as Shakespeare said. It is proven to help memory. Sage makes one wise, among other things. So, no matter what, growing it near the preschool will produce good effects.

I'd say that was sage...
They both have purple flowers but rosemary has darker leaves.

kind of reminds me of lavander, but it's not quite right.
if the leaves are really sticky to the fingers it might be rosemary.my ex's mom had a hedge made of that and it'd gum up clippers every time.

The photo isn't clear and I can't smell it. Lavender doesn't fit with your song and I don't like the scent of it do I won't suggest that as the identity of your plant.

They are lovely and yes, both sage and rosemary are great for seasoning especially poultry. But it looks like you've got a lavender plant there but anyway I did some looking online now here is a photo of the sage plant I found online. You decide.
