The Sun yesterday has a Rainbow like outer ring. Usually, during this phenomenom my grandfather used to explain the omen. Sadly, he passes away three years ago.... Do you believe that some phenomenon can foretell what will happen in the future?

I never try to correlate such things. Every such phenomenon had a scientific reason.

Yeah, I usually see it within the moon but with the sun my first time to notice it...

I think the people before we as just being logical during their times where science was not that popular. I can see this ring also with the moon at night too. It has something to do with the angles where light passes through that creates this ring.

@simplfred i also heard that when there’s ring on moon that there plenty of shrimp in the sea. That’s why fishermen look to the moon that before they set to sea and would know what catch they would get.

Yeah, it is easily spotted when moon has it but it is my first time to see it with the sun. I agree but sometimes their words becomes real, I don't know if it is only coincidence only.

@rsa101 That's really possible or they have really proven it that's why they keep on believing on it. What I know is that through the sun we can tell or assume the time.

@simplfred I just recall my daughter saying "Mommy, social media is saying a lot will die in this date". I dismissed her with "Stop that nonsense" lol

There's no omen or something bad will happen. A halo encircling the sun are droplets of water. It could usually happen during a very hot weather or usually summer time.

My family went on swimming on Sunday. My sister was sending photos of her kids and then she mentioned that the sun has rainbow on it. She forwarded the photo and researched about it and found out that it is ice crystal reflecting. My friends from Pangasinan started posting photos of the sun.

It is a nice phenomena and nice to see. Usually formed because of moisture high in the atmosphere! There are many myths about this kind of occurance.

I often seen the moon with it but my very first time with the sun. Maybe it is happening regularly with the sun but sometimes we hate to look at it. Ha ha.
