“Well I told you one and I told you twice
But you never listen to my advice
You don’t try very hard to please me
With what you know it should be easy”
The first single written by Jagger-Richards concerns a dissatisfied relationship and the singer has had enough. “The Last Time” was inspired by the 1958 gospel song “This May Be the Last Time” sung by the Staple Singers. The song was considered traditional so no plagiarism issues. The tune was recorded in Hollywood with Phil Spector producing. Richards and Jones shared lead guitar. Jones does the opening hook and Richards a solo. From the album “Out of Our Heads,” “The Last Time” charted at #1 UK and #9 US. The band played it live in the 60s then “The Last Time” disappeared from concert until 1995. Odd fact: the Who recorded “The Last Time/Under My Thumb” as a single in 1967.
The ultimate version. ;) DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT OWN THIS SHOW NOR DO I CLAIM IT'S MINE IN ANY FORM. ALL COPYRIGHTS BELONG TO THEIR RESPECTIVE OWNERS, NOT ME! I...

So, are there two songs called The Last Time by the Rolling Stones or this song in the video featured was inspired by a gospel song but has a totally different story?

Remember when you started this and I said you couldn’t miss when looking for better hits than “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction”? You’re continually succeeding.

I would put this one further down, not a fan.
