Unsolved Mysteries -- Any fans here?

As a child, my mother used to watch this show pretty regularly, and I would watch it with her. She was pretty amazed at first because I always hated watching TV, especially news broadcast-style things (although the show always emphasized in its opening disclaimer that it was "not a news broadcast"!) I became a pretty big fan in my own right as I got older and spent nights in the 8th grade through high school doing my homework with Unsolved Mysteries on in the background. It is probably one of the few fond memories I have from my school years. It got to the point where my mom would tape it if I had dance class any night at the same time it was on (I was a serious dancer during my teens). Unlike my peers, I was not spooked by the music or by Robert Stack's voice. In fact, my mom and I agreed that his voice was perfect for that show, and the theme song, in our opinion, is one of the greatest television themes ever composed and she is always begging me to choreograph some sort of dance or martial arts routine to it! I understand the show was revived briefly with former Law and Order (I think) actor Dennis Farina as the host but I never really got into the revival. I also understand that a new revival is underway and I may check it out even though I know that, for me, nothing will ever compare to the original simply because I don't know how you can replace Robert Stack's narration. Now that original Robert Stack seasons have been available on services like Amazon Prime, I have been binge-watching them when I have the time. Is/Was anyone else a fan of Unsolved Mysteries?

Yes indeed. I still watch Dateline, 20/20 and 48 Hours every week.

I always dug these kinds of shows (in my time it was "In Search of". . . in which the music spooked me and same with the voice of Mr. Spock, Leonard Nemoy) . . . so naturally I loved Unsolved Mysteries too. I can't remember specific episodes right now, but I can clearly hear in my head Robert Stack's voice.

There are full episodes on YouTube now. Another somewhat similar show I have liked is "Disappeared" on Investigation Discovery, which focuses solely on missing persons.

@skydancer I'll have to check YouTube for them! My little son is into that stuff too. I don't think I've watched those particular missing person shows. I do think watching these shows teaches us some lessons in life . . . that it can be a warped world - everyone needs to watch their backs !
