Wow it's been a minute since I've been on here, so I thought I would dive back in with a book review. This book was one that caught my eye at the library, and yes I admit I judged the book by its cover. But this judgment was a good one. The cover made the book look like fun, and it wasn't wrong. This book was a really easy read, and if you let it can easily keep you up at night. The narrator was one of the main characters so it's in first person. I prefer reading first person stories because the reader gets a better grasp on the character's feelings and thoughts. This is a better way of storytelling in my opinion.
Jake, short for Jacobia, and her best friend Ellie, have a bakery in a tiny town in New England. This bakery is called the Chocolate Moose which I thought was adorable. Jake goes to the bakery to open up and finds a dead man in the kitchen. He was a food critic and because of circumstances Ellie is being accused of killing him. I don't want to give too much away, but Jake and Ellie decide to do a little sleuthing on their own and mystery ensues.
This is a fun read and I will definitely be checking out Sarah Graves' other books, especially if they feature Jake and Ellie. These two are fun characters and ladies I would totally be friends with if they existed in real life.

That sounds about right. Cosy is a good word for it. It's a good rainy day under a blanket book.
