The Birds I See Through My Window

One of the things I most enjoy about my home office is sitting at my desk and looking out the window. There are several large trees that the squirrels love to scamper up and down. But what's a special treat for me is when I see birds I don't often see. That happened the other day when a woodpecker landed on the tree just in front of the window and started doing his thing. I think it's the first woodpecker I've ever seen, and I was surprised at how big it was. For some reason, I thought woodpeckers were small like hummingbirds. Anyway, he only stayed a few minutes and I haven't seen him since. But it's a joy just looking out of the window every day wondering what new animal friend I'll make the acquaintance of next.
