Following In My Ancestors' Footsteps (Hotel Management)

I have always been fascinated with hotels. I am not sure why, but I just always enjoyed exploring them whenever I would get to stay in one. I remember one particular hotel - a Holiday Inn - we stayed in during a post-Christmas trip when I was a child. It had four floors and each floor was decorated slightly differently; each had its own wallpaper and accent pieces. Today, of course, it would look very 1980's.
It turns out I have a hotel in my family lineage, now known as the Roosevelt Waldorf Astoria in New Orleans (originally the Grunewald). It is easily one of my favorite places on earth, and I admit to becoming irked at their social media from time to time when they say things such as, "You know you're home when..." and use a photo of someone who is a obviously a complete stranger to the hotel's origins and history. As my research would have it, the family stories are abundant and have been well cherished; it is home to me in a way that other guests could never understand.
It has also inspired me to go back to college and study hotel operations, which I hope to expand upon by pursuing a degree in business with concentration in hospitality and tourism management. I would love to work at my family's old hotel down in New Orleans but until then, I am eager to learn as much about the trade as I can and am pursuing entry level job listings for hotels in my local area.
Of course, I highly doubt I will ever have the money to make this a reality, but just for fun, I have compiled a sketchbook of pictures of what my ideal hotel would look like if I could design and build one myself like my great-great-great grandfather did. I'll probably never go "all the way" with this endeavor, but I am eager to see where it takes me nonetheless.
The image is a letterhead from the original Hotel Grunewald. I think I have an actual photo of the hotel in one of my other posts.
