In talking about the Human Trafficking fight, people often tell me that they would love to become actively involved, but they wouldn't be able to work directly with Human Trafficking Survivors. I completely understand that. It can be intimidating meeting them. Especially those who have only recently left "the Life". So many wonderful things, said in the wrong way, can cause a lot more harm than good.
However, there are many ways people can help in the fight that have nothing to do with direct contact. One of the things we do here at Freedom Cry Inc is a fun art project called "Hope's Hearts".
Hope's Hearts are ceramic hearts made by volunteers at the John Michael Kohler Museum of Art. The volunteers are given all the materials need to make mobiles that get hung up around Sheboygan County.
The hearts have words of hope imprinted on them.
Hope - courage to keep moving forward
Courage - strength to make the journey
Strength - inner power to withstand whatever comes
Faith - wings and sail of our dreams
Wisdom - guardian of our choices
People who are struggling or having problems with bullies, abuse, or being groomed by Human Traffickers can take the Heart with them. It is both a symbol of encouragement and the contact information helps them know they have someone to turn to.

Survivors of human trafficking and other forms of enslavement have endured more than just tactless pleasantries.
So i think they could handle it. People don't like to get involved because they are just too preoccupied with themselves and in running the rat race
