He Did Not Chicken Out....

So he roasted a chicken and left it out on the kitchen top and then went out to the shops up town.
He left the dog in the kitchen and had not fed the dog at all.
He got back from shopping up town and found a load of chicken bones on the floor and one very satisfied dog.
However he went round to his Mother´s house and complained about the dog forever and ever and I was there just come back from work and I tried not to laugh but I just could not help it.
I roared with laughter when I was on my own of course.
Although I should not have laughed too much I could not stop everytime I thought of his way of thinking.
Putting a roast chicken right under a dog´s nose is very tempting and even more so when he is hungry.
To this very day I can still laugh about it.
Please note that my brother was not very happy about me laughing about it but I said to him you should have put the chicken in a safer place than that so don´t blame the dog its not his fault.
Yes indeed the dog did not chicken out.

How can a dog resist a roast chicken stuck right under his nose they just don´t think do they?

I understand that one. My cat that I had before Sophie where we used to live got inside the apartment next door and he had chicken out and she ate it. I wrote a note for him when he opened the door not to be alarmed that she was in there and that she ate his chicken and put money in it for him. I felt so terrible.

I think that I would feel terrible also but at least you left the money for him to buy another one.
Had not thought of the cat eating the chicken as I was so taken with the dog eating it his of course.

@Hannihar
Its so very true they cannot read or write so they use their own logic like there is a nice bit of chicken for me to eat so he or her has left it for me.

That happens when one has animals and food is left out.

I would say he was lucky too and I would have forgiven my dog for sure.

No instead he went to Mom´s house to protest about it and go ranting on and on.
That is where I got to hear about it.
How else could he expect the dog to react seeing that nice chicken there?

Exactly but he wanted to make it everyone else´s fault except his own which is the way he always is anyway.
You cannot expect a dog not to eat something left under his blessed nose can you.
Dogs do not read or write but they are sure smart enough to take any chance for a tasty meal.

Thank you and it has never happened to me either as I learned from it but I cannot help laughing still as I remember the not logical reaction of my brother.
Fancy tempting a hungry dog like that.

It was just too much for him and I did all I could not to laugh too much and I asked myself what was he thinking when he left the chicken out right under the dog´s nose?

But my brother was careless you see and he did not feed the dog on time and left him hungry.
I said to him so you think he is going to prefer a piece of toast compared to that whole chicken you left there no way.

Yes a chicken will always win over a mere piece of toast for sure.

Me too I can still see that look on his face to this very day.
A dog´s logic is not a human´s logic but he supposed that the dog would not eat it out of loyalty perhaps?
It was and is very funny.
Can you blame a poor hungry dog.
