At least that's what I thought it was.
Because I saw this article about a wife who tries to sell his husband's iron man figures. He became obsessed about it since watching the Avenger's movie.
Do you think the wife made the right choice? I mean the husband is already in his forties.
Wife Tries to Sell Husband’s Beloved Avengers Action Figures Online Because She Thinks It’s Childish
Avengers: Endgame hit the cinemas two weeks ago and fans have been going crazy about the conclusion of one of the biggest movie franchises in the world. Some people have even been influenced to buy merchandise such as clothes, action figures and others aft

There might be other issues that made her sell them. But I still feel that she should have seeked his permission. People have different kinds of hobbies and age has nothing to do with it.

She should've asked permission first. Except of course if the family is in dire need of money.

I think this goes far deeper than just Action Figures. For both of them.

It remind me about a movie in our native language, here the bride was created issues. After the marriage, her mother send many suitcases, which she packed before marriage to her in-laws home. On checking it she realized one particular suitcase was missing. She made allegations to all at in-laws home some one has stolen her box as it contain costly things, Every one in the family and neighbours thought that it contain gold jwellery of her. She checked all rooms and disappointed as she could not find it anywhere. Then some one informed this in her home, her mother realized she forgot to send one box and immediately send it. Every one curiously looking while she open the box, first she take out a small frock, which she used to wear when she was a child, then she took a tooth brush, on showing the brush to every one, she announced she did not get any teeth till she become 3 years old and suddenly she got one and her mother bought that brush at that time. The next was more funny, she showed a stone, which she used to stone pelting on a mango nearby mango tree in her house. Every one started to say, she must be crazy...... but she was normal but had some immature character or habit.
Same way this hubby must have some weird habits. She does not have any right to do anything with his belongings when he is alive.

@Letranknight2015 She was a childish character .
If she sells thing without hubby's knowledge then it would be disastrous.

Hello @Sreekala I have read the article and I think from the looks of it the hubby didn''t know she was selling it. She took it down later on.
With your story maybe it was a red flag for that wife.

I was expecting to read that he plays pretend with them or something. But no. he's just collecting them and it's not like he's the oldest person to horde away action figures. Theres no age limit on collecting things, especially not comic book heros. The wife should have spoken to him. He's just going to go out and buy more and I hope he does play with them just to p her off

@Letranknight2015 asking permission from the owner is also a sign of respect. so even if he is your wife or husband, it is still proper to ask permission...

Well for collectors of toys there is the right time to sell it because I know if the toys are kept intact for sometime the value of it may go up. So many collectors are keeping those toys until the value of the toys goes up. As for the wife trying to sell it may not be a wise decision depending on how old the toy is. If it is recently bought then the value of that may not be so high at all. I think his husband is not childish he collects it hoping that someday the toys bought can be sold at a higher price. He may be childish if he still plays with it like a kid.

@Letranknight2015 collecting toys takes time to really pursue. You need a lot of money, time and patience to monitor the value of your collections.

i'm gonna say this as a woman-some wives really need to pick their battles with more thought.
as long as the bills are paid,if the dude wants to play video games or collect action figures, and they're not scattered in the way all over the house,LET IT GO.there's a helluva lot worse the guy could be doing.

Hello @scarlet_woman I agree with you there. Maybe she was not used to it and thought it was childish for him to buy toys at his age.

If she tried to sell them without talking to him first I don't think that her behaviour is okay. I would never do that if my husband was collecting something. If he spent the money on his collection instead of bills we would have to talk it, but I wouldn't just sell his things without his permission.

@Letranknight2015 Yes, she might think that it is a waste of money. Many couples disagree about money and have different priorities. My husband collects caps, but he bought most of them before me met.

For me, that was wrong. They were his husband's property and watching his favorite characters do not mean childish at all. That is part of leisure to ease some burden, relaxing the body from stress and that is entertaining. His wife's action for me was wrong, improper that may cause trouble.Respect is very important in marriage though I am not married, lol but I know this word respect a must in marriage to prosper.
