A lot of people have that misunderstanding. Sushi can be fish, vegetable, meat, raw or cooked. Sashimi is usually raw meat or fish which is thinly sliced (it's really nice actually!)
To be 'sushi', it should contain rice but the term is often used to describe any of the Japanese style - sushi or sashimi

There are several sushi restaurants on my island. In the past I didn't like sushi, but I recently started eating it. There many different kinds of sushi. My favorite kind is uramaki.

@Rdoll25 Yes, I got used to the taste when I had eaten them a few times. Now I like many of them.

I like sushi. If you are trying it for the first time with people who have tried it before then they will be able to give some advice as to whether it's good or bad. If it looks fresh, that's a good start. If it's very vinegary or if it's sloppy, you might want to be careful. If you're having a meat or fish sushi then you should be able to recognise its freshness from the colour.
When you first try it, it might be a good idea to try a vegetable sushi or one that contains a meat that you are familiar with.
I like many different kinds of sushi. My sister said she wouldn't like it because she doesn't like fish. Once I explained that it wasn't all fish, she came with me and she tried cucumber sushi, which she really enjoyed.

Try sushi that using cooked fish. It is better and certainly comfortable to eat.

This sushi is new to me also. I also want to try it. But don't know the right place to find sushi.
