Hello everyone, I hope you all had a great Friday! I had another day of not eating on plan....but I already wrote about how I most likely won't till Monday.
-Going to take out some frozen meat to work on meal prep tomorrow and Sunday.
Today my fasting sugar was 169, not the worst after having carbs the day before. Not good either of course....but could have been worse.
My first meal today was breakfast tacos (I had one) -- a tortilla shell with an egg and potato filling.
Then much later I had some turkey bacon and 2 pancakes (not low carb).
Had some ice cream for dessert.
Then for my last meal I had a frozen pizza....a whole one since it was a "personal" sized pizza.
Yes....I ate a bunch I shouldn't have, I know this. I know I do need to get back on track and quit going off the wagon. I won't ever get over my carb/sugar addiction if I keep going off the rails.
And I know some will say just eat a balanced meal, or everything in moderation...but for some that can be deadly.
Anyways....how did you all do today? Anything good on the menu?

I've heard of that on bagels, but not on toast. Hope you enjoyed!

You have a tomorrow attitude. You need to make the change to a today attitude. Today you will make the change, not tomorrow. Today you will eat according to plan. Not tomorrow. When you change your attitude to today, you will see a change in your will power and will start seeing your blood sugar where it needs to be.
When the orthopedic doctor told me he couldn't do knee replacement surgery because I was too overweight, I did something about it immediately. I found a food program that worked - Whole30. My cheat days in two years have amounted to about three days total. When I go shopping, I know the foods to stay away from. They aren't part of my diet. If I need something sweet, I create it from what is good and healthy for me. I know the substitutes that work to keep a healthy balance to my body. I have lost a total of 37 pounds. Right now I'm on a teeter-totter - up and down by four pounds, however, I can still see the difference in how I look. My body is slimming, and soon the scale will reflect more weight loss.
Yesterday I had steak, eggs, and potatoes for breakfast and one banana. Lunch was meatballs in tomato sauce over riced broccoli. For dessert, I made myself my chocolate brownie mix that is 100% healthy.
I am the only one who will make me eat what I need to because I alone know what it's going to take to get ready for the knee surgery I need. I'm still about two years away from that surgery. By the time I have it, I will be slim and I will have no need for an unhealthy diet as I have no cravings for anything unhealthy now.
I know this is a long response, but I hope you don't take offense. You need to take charge of your life.

I'll have a today attitude starting Monday when I am prepared...I know that is totally not what you were saying. I know I have the wrong "attitude" but that is just who I am. It's not easy to just switch that over.
I think that is great that you changed your way of eating when it came down to that, and you have stuck to it with only a few cheat days. Congrats on your progress so far!
I know I have to change, I just hate it so much and wish I didn't have to. That is probably part of it....
I am not offended, I more feel ashamed of myself for being a failure.
Sounds like you had very healthy meals, and things that you can enjoy.
I really just need to make the meals I know I will like, but a bunch at once so I have meals ready to just warm up.

I had my same-old same-old. You know what you're doing; so I'm not going to comment on your eating habits. I do worry about you though. Have a good night.

Well I hope you enjoyed your food at least! I am not sure that I do know what I am doing, at least with not being able to stick to the diet I need to. Hope you have a good night too

This week, I have been really struggling with a low carb/high fat plan. It is quasi-keto, it is probably so butchered by me that it is more quasi-killing me; but I am losing weight well.
The thing is, and this is the reason why I am commenting, I found that last weekend, when I gave myself a day off, was the catalyst for me to crave biscuits, chocolate, deserts. I had a stodgy and thoroughly nice lamb doner kebab last weekend and I think the turkish bread that came which it tipped me well and truly over the edge.
Tomorrow is another day though. I will take a peek through your 2019 journey and hopefully you get some encouragement that I actually ate 20g of 85% dark chocolate for breakfast today.... 3.9g of carbs from my 20g daily limit.

Well it is nice to find someone else here that is doing low carb/high fat way of eating! That's good that you are losing weight well, it can be a nice benefit!
Oh yeah, I definitely understand the cravings can be huge if you give yourself even a day off after sticking to the low carb lifestyle for long enough!
Yes, tomorrow is always another day! Here it will be Mother's Day so won't be sticking to my plan. Monday I plan to be back on track though.
Chocolate for breakfast? About 4 carbs is not bad for breakfast though!
