When I was in high school, my mother took in two girls from South America who were escaping violence in their home land. With the support of this new stable and safe home, the girls, my sisters, went on to lead successful lives. One of the girls returned to Bogotá, Colombia to become an engineer and the other became a biology professor at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

Wow! That was a really kind act. The world needs more people like your mom. And the two girls too did their job by making your mom proud!
