Deceptive Profile Photos?

This morning, I noticed that a social media friend had changed his profile pic. I almost didn't recognize him! He'd had the previous one up for a couple of years (ever since I first met him online) and he had never posted other pics of himself. He looks much older and heavier in the new photo! I know a lady on FB who usually posts a 25 year old profile pic. The first time I saw a current photo of her, I was a bit shocked. I don't really care what photos or avatars people post- to each their own! I just think that if they post a very old pic, maybe they should be willing to say so.

I rarely post pics of self that are more than 3 years old- just a personal choice. What's your opinion about profile pics?

I change mine rarely, only because it's time consuming for me. Mine must be 3 years old. I love seeing people's faces. It makes it more personal,
