Ups and Downs of Life

I was feeling down today. I am not sure why. It could have had something to do with a week of rain and not one nice day to be outside. Or, it could have been that another writing site was not what I thought, it was going to be. I walked away from Medium. It's just not worth it. Thinking about things a little more it could be that for the past 15 years I have been trying to make a living with my writing. I did do it for about ten years there. But, things have changed so much. I am doing making anything anymore. I was really down. Thinking about all of this and how people just do not seem to read books anymore. So, it is really a good idea to go ahead and try to publish a book or two. Well, that is a dream. I felt down about all of this until, I went and looked through my blog posts. I had to start over a few times so both my blogs are only about six months old. I did realize that there are people who are reading my work. People who still enjoy reading short stories and poetry. This cheered me up a lot. I found a few poetry contests and other writing contest. I also discovered that it's short story month. This must have been what I needed because it did make me feel a lot better. Writing has changed so much over the years. People read more ebooks than real books that you can hold in your hands. Although, it was I once thought, poetry was dead, it's not. You just have to find people who like to read it. My point is that this is the life of a writer these days. We all have our ups and down's. We all move on. Thanks for reading my rambling thoughts, that I would only be comfortable posting here. What are your feelings on the writing world these days?
