When you do counseling, you should know how to listen and empathize. Do not think of how or what you will answer, instead allow the person to share and understand their situation. People who seeks advise actually needs someone to talk to, someone they know who will listen to them. If you are not that type of individual, then there is no question why people do not look for you in times of hardships. Counseling also involves a heart that can connect to someone's current situation. Books can be a help as to how you will handle but everything can be applied if you combine the use of your mind and heart.
