My brother's neighbours just call the police without consult us first

That sounds stupid. Here, up until 10pm, unless a party is out of control the police will do nothing. Maybe enjoy some soda and BBQ with you! Our neighbor has cookouts with the stereo on often, we don’t mind.

Do you know what my problem is with neighborhoods? Any guesses? My biggest problem with neighborhoods is neighbors! I'm especially bothered by stupid and otherwise insensitive ones. We have a neighbor a few houses from us who are nice with us but they are not nice with each other. There have been several occasions where there was some serious domestic fighting going on. One time the glass window on the front living room was broken from what I suspect as 'flying objects.' We actually called the police one time. Do you know what they told us? They were not able to come out to check what was going on unless someone from their house called the police. How stupid is that? A few weeks ago, there were a couple of police cars at their house. Then the other day, I again heard very loud shouting there. In my opinion, this is a situation requiring the police not a party celebration.

I'm so sorry to hear this. It should be a happy celebration but because of your neighbour, maybe you can ask him to hang out somewhere just to make him happy

They should have come to you and let you know if you were making too much noise.

That was very unfriendly of them but I am glad you are now okay.

Bad neighbors do exist, just this day there was an issue with our neighbor and you already shared your feeling about our rude and mean neighbor. That neighbor of your brother is so unkind considering the special day of your bro celebrated only once a year. It's hard to love a neighbor like that.
