Water in the basement...

So it's been raining almost nonstop the past week or so. Yesterday and today were the first days in a week we had blue skies, but it started getting overcast after I got off work as another storm moves in. If the weather app on my phone is to be trusted, it's supposed to rain until next Tuesday, too. Rain is all good and dandy, but the problem that's come up recently is that there's standing water in my basement because of all the rain. There's been a good amount of flooding going on, so I assume it's because of how saturated the ground is, but it's annoying nonetheless. Landlord said he couldn't do anything about it and advised me to get a shopvac, which I did. It's just a pain to suck up gallons of water every day. Started looking for other places to live. No idea what I'll do currently. It's more of a nuisance than anything. How do you take care of basement flooding? Any tips or tricks you have for me?
