Feeling Sorry For Myself

I have been feeling badly the past few days. I am on my 6th sinus infection since January and every time it hits, I feel poorly for a couple of days. I am trying to figure out what is causing this so that I can break the pattern. I have never had sinus problems before. I typically use steam and a neti pot to help. Have any of you had sinus problems and what did you do for them? The image reminds me of pollen!

I think it's high time you saw a specialist. The field you need is otorhinolaryngology : The branch of medical science that deals with the ear, nose, and throat.

I spoke to the doctor on Tuesday and they want to wait to see if this clears. The next step is apparently a CT scan to see if there is s structural problem--so right now I am on wait and see mode. Antibiotics clear it up but it returns again within a week or so--

@divalounger You have my sympathy. A CT scan may clear up the mystery. Although antibiotics help, they pull you down.

@MALUSE I am not a fan of antibiotics unless they are really needed--here they are not working to break the pattern

I hope you find the reason for them. I've never had it.

@just4him They want to let it ride a while and see if my body can resolve it on its own--I do feel better right now than I did a week ago--I also told them that I will be traveling soon--and that if it doesn't resolve that I will need antibiotics--so I am waiting to see what happens in the next couple of days

Poor you. My aid at school suffered from sinus problems, so I feel for you. I don’t know how you will be able to find a trigger. Feel better soon!

Thanks @DianneN --I am not sure how to find the trigger either--but I have to do something--I make my living singing and teaching singing--and that is difficult right now--so I have to figure it out soon

@DianneN They don't! One of my singer friends is dealing with the same thing right now--and so he and I have been commiserating.

@divalounger I hope you can figure it out. Sinus problems and singing don’t mix well.

@divalounger Nasonex works differently, look at the comparisons, not that there is anything wrong with Flonase, it is a lot less expensive but it can be harder on your nose.

i always say - look to yer gut. if'n thingies 're outta whack there, yer immune system plays tricks'n ya. raw local honey helps with rebuildin' yer immune system'n tends to help keep those allergies/sinus 'nfections 't bay. sendin' healin' 's i know from past 'xperience such can really start to weigh ya down.

I was always allergic to pollen but grew out of it in my old age. I have never had sinus problems but when I hurt I go see my doctor. But in Canada it doens't cost anything to see the doctor... Hope you can find a fix for that nose...
