Has anyone ever told you that MyLot is a waste of time?

I don't talk that much about MyLot with people. Pretty much just my dad and one of my best friends.
A couple years ago though, when I was talking about MyLot to my Nan and Aunty, they asked me how it works and I explained it. My Aunty asked "How much do you get paid?"
I explained that it depends on how much interaction you get from others. Again she asked me how much you make and again I explained that there isn't really a figure I can throw at her because it depends on the interaction from others but just to give her a rough idea I said "Depending on how much you do but mainly depending on how much interaction you get back, the figure can be from 1cent to a little bit over a dollar a day." ( please keep in mind I was talking about my earnings here. I'm sure others are able to make a bit more from time to time )
Anyway she pulled a face and said "That's not a lot at all." I told her that no it's not but I ( and I'm sure many others ) appreciate what they do get. It's easy money and though not a lot, it does help people out.
But then she kept going on and on about how it seems like a waste of time. 
I personally love MyLot so much! Of course the money helps me and I get excited every hour when my earnings update but I also love it here because of the people. Yes there are some who have really tested my patience but majority of people here are so interesting to talk to. I love trying to help people here and appreciate the help and support I get when I'm feeling down.
So it annoys me when people go on and on about something being a waste of time when it's not even affecting their bloody time. If we enjoy it, that's all that matters!

Honestly, I try not to worry about what others think about what I'm doing. If it's not against God and I'm happy that's what matters to me. =)

A waste of time is when you have a lots of important work to do but you waste your time in some useless things . I think this is called a waste of time

Dani, you should have told her that any little bit one makes helps and that people are not here always to make money and to meet new people. There was a post once or something someone saying My Lot is a waste of time. To me it is what you get out of it and what you are looking for here.

@Hannihar Exactly how I feel. Funny enough I was just saying to my dad that I still don't feel like communicating with her at the moment and if I do, I will be training myself to not listen to her cruel words or useless advice.

No, never, nobody. Maybe someone is experiencing the site as waste of time, but it's nice to me, as long as I feel comfortable here and as long as it allows me free time to spend here, I will stay

Thank you for sharing. I don't think that your Aunty understands myLot at all. 
Either that or it isn't a good fit for you. I don't talk about myLot to anybody in person. When I'm on an online forum and the circumstances call for it, I may suggest or recommend myLot. I have read posts on other sites that made false claims about myLot being a waste of time. 
Of course, I don't ever believe everything I read.

@betlynfrnds I am the same as you. I don't really mention it unless it feels like someone is wanting to join a site like this to make money though not often they take the suggestion.
I don't believe much what I read either. So many people lie for one reason or another.

@anil02 Yeah I think it would just be better for these people to let it go. If they don't want to use it then they don't have to. They also don't have to make anyone who does use it feel bad about it.

I don't normally talk about mylot. I haven't actively talked about it many years. I might talk about it in passing to someone in the household, but not enough for him to want to form an opinion. I'd rather not have people raining on my parade.

@VivaLaDani13 Yes, I just don't get people who have to have an opinion about everything. Especially if it's not anything that is going to personally impact them. Mylot is a fun place to be, and it just happens to have the bonus of earning us a candy bar or two each month.

@christinadanderson Hey! It actually varies for me. If I don't spend a lot of time on here then I can still make the payout ( so $5 ) but if I keep my motivation and put effort into it then $10 - $15 a month. Depends how motivated I am.

I feel you. A person very close to me gave me the feeling that Mylot was a waste of time. She didn't say it directly, but her tone was clear. It was so stressful.

@hexeduser22 I can imagine it feeling stressful. People are entitled to their own opinion of course but it annoys me when people have their opinions set in cement when they haven't even experienced it for themselves.
