I wish the cat and dog would get along!

The little dog is visiting..and he and the cat don't get along at all! The dog always thinks the cat is intruding on his space and vice versa. Just because they had an initial negative interaction when they first met..the dog things the cat is a big troublemaker! Of course he is, but he really isn't mean..The dog is always barking if the cat gets too close..or makes mean noises at him. He got along with my other cat! He gets along with cats at his house! Nico is not that bad!

@rakski It could be worse..they usually don't go that close to each other..but when they do..the cat tries to intimidate the dog by running real close to him. The dog really can't stand his harassment.

Yes, I think the dog should be a little more tolerant. As you said, it's the cat's house.

My dogs have never been exposed to cats so I have no idea how they would react, they sure like other dogs

They would probably chase them initially, but might make friends with them, later on especially if they knew they were your pets.

Yes, the cat is mine. The dog just takes an attitude with him..and the cat, being a cat..tries to get his swats in.

I hope they can. They are like squabbling siblings when they get together, but I have to say I blame the dog for most of the negativity. The cat is just being a cat.
