Today is Madaraka day in Kenya

Madaraka is A Swahili word meaning "power" Therefore Madaraka day is a national holiday in Kenya celebrated on 1st June every year. This is the day Kenya attained self rule from the British Colonies in 1963. Today 1st June 2019 marks the 56 years since Kenya attained the self governance.
