National Go Barefoot Day 1495 - A monk, John Cor, records the first known batch of Scotch whisky 1926 - Marilyn Monroe was born. She was an American model and actress. She died in 1962. (pictured above) 1934 - Pat Boone was born. He is an American singer, songwriter, actor, writer, television personality, motivational speaker and spokesman. He was a pop singer from the 1950s to the early 1960s. He sold more than 45 million records, had 38 top-40 hits and appeared in more than 12 films.
