What's the Difference Between a "Good Band" and a "Great" Band

My daughter and I have this discussion all the time whenever I end up listening to her music and try to explain to her a band that is considered "good" today might not have the same staying power as the "great" ones.
To me, a "great" band is one that withstands the test of time. In other words, if I listened to a band when I was a kid and my kids immediately recognize that band when they come across them on the radio, I'd consider them in the "great" category.

You're right. Great is heavier than good. Great is more experience than good which is just beginning to reach the pedestal of success.
