Finding your niche

If you are a writer and a good one, how do you know what niche would be profitable for you if you want to take it as a business!

If you consider that writing may be a profitable business, you should look how many writers you have in your country, and how many are making a living with it. Here it is less than 1%, and half of this 1% would die of hunger without social help...

@AnSal07 I am French, and I have had several books published (printed on paper), but you do not make a living with a publisher's contract, although we have more rights on a book here than in North-America. There are an average 6000 books printed every year here, and I am generous when I say that 1% of authors are living with their pen...

Write what you know. It's as simple as that. If you pick a niche based on anything else, people will realize you're faking it.
