Father's Day plans, anyone?

Since both of our kids, a son in law, and two grands are away on their cruise and won't be back until Sunday night, I guess my husband and I will celebrate Father's Day with the two of us.
I asked if he wanted me to make dinner reservations someplace, but he said he'd rather I cook a nice meal. So I think I'll fix a beef roast with mashed potatoes and gravy, a garden salad, some kind of veggie, deviled eggs, fried corn bread and sweet tea.
We hope to go to our daughter's soon, so we'll celebrate with them then. The oldest granddaughter is about five hours away and the oldest grandson is in Maine, so it might be a while before we see them.
I think the day after Father's Day, my husband and I will ride to Nags Head on the Atlantic Ocean for the day. There's a wonderful seafood place there that we like. It's only about two hours from here, so we'll enjoy that if the rain ever stops!
We applied for our passports this morning and should get them in about eight weeks. Just in case we do take that cruise this summer.
Hope all you fathers in myLot Land will have a wonderful day with good food and a loving family.

No special plans here for Father's Day. Hope you have a great time with your special meal and your dinner out at the seafood place (sounds yummy). What state are you in, if you don't mind my asking?

We live in eastern NC. Are you in Ohio? I've never been there.

@1creekgirl It should be. Not sure what we will do yet, but whatever it is, it's always a good time.

How is your catering business coming along? Sounds like you have a lot of customers....this might be a great second career when you retire.

@1creekgirl I have 1 family that I've been cooking for every week. Others order periodically. Work is almost over for now so I don't think it will start up again until late August or September when we go back to work.

Sounds like a nice Father's Day, hope he enjoys it. Nothing like a home cooked meal.
I will go scuba diving on Saturday with my youngest son and hopefully see the other two kids and the grandkids on sunday. I might get stuck cooking out again, but that is alright with me.

Thanks, I truly wish my dad wasn't so far away, as his birthday and Father's Day are very close together. I will give him a call, but it's not the same as being there. Next year I plan to get up there more often.Enjoy your day!
