Why Hug Me?

Every time we have our birthday, my wife and I are hugging each other. When I wake up late in the morning and see my wife in the kitchen cooking for something, I approach and greet her with good morning, then hug her.
Every time I do it I could see how happy is my wife and in return I have a very good feeling that is something wonderful.
Why hugging is important factor in the way we live? In the way, we treat others especially our wife and family members?

Hugging shows love and effection and that you care about the people you love it makes you feel good and the other person too. Especially if you are hugging that really loves and cares for you then it makes you both feel warm and fuzzy inside.

A simple hug means a lot to the couple. There's warmth and indescribable affection.

This is not referred to you. This is the question raised my wife. And I am sharing it here for discussion for there are different views about the good effect of hugging.

@cintol Thanks. It becomes now a habit for me to hug my wife, my children and any member of our family.

That's good. But if there's none, you look for yourself to hug someone.
