Sight is an invaluable gift!

Hey guys, owing to work and studies I stare at the computer a little too much. I have had quite a few close calls with almost going blind. I have acute sinusitis since childhood and deviated septum on my nose, these alone puts a lot of strain on my eyes. Pressure building up behind the eyes and the painful migraines are bad. I'm writing this with the help of voice to text feature in Google Docs. My eyes are so swollen, inflamed, and shut tight with pain. Hardly any vision. I have several deadlines coming up at work too. I'm very anxious. Times like this makes me wonder how I'll be forever handicapped if I lose my sight. My advice to you, don't strain eyes too much, wear glasses if you have to, and most importantly don't take your sight for granted.

@cherrypuff Does not sound good what you have. Can something be done about it? So what does the doctor say about all that you are going through? Do you need the computer for work? Can someone help you with your work if you have to use the computer so you do not have to work on it? Your eyes are very important.

Unfortunately, no one help me out other than my late twin and my supervisor at my internship. It's a very skill driven field, web development & cloud solutions. My supervisor is scolding me for not taking better care of myself. I'll go to the doctor soon if it doesn't improve. I consulted with a friend of mine who is a certified nurse and currently pursuing to be a doctor.

@Hannihar She says it can be a combination of migraine and eyestrain given my medical history in which case rest and eyedrops helps, but she wants me to get it checked out if it doesn't improve.

I am sorry to know this. Yes, all of us are ignorant and realize the gravity of the problem at the last stage. Please go for a good eye specialist and find a solution for your problem.

Excellent advice, if more people like you are going to youth who have hardly any vision problems, less myopia problems would exist, with that children like to watch movies more closely on television, and we don't educate them to take care of their eyesight , I suffer from myopia somewhat advanced since the age of 16 and out of shame to wear glasses in high school I said nothing, but I had trouble seeing the board.

I wish you well. I have a great deal of admiration and sympathy for people with disability. They are strong for still living on despite hardships.

Sad to know of your state. Hope things improve with all needed help and care. You are very right. Sight is a blessing and we should not take it for granted.
