You have your answer from @tech40. I turn off all of the notifications to do with likes. 'Responded' and 'commented' are the ones which may actually need your attention; 'Mentioned', not so much, perhaps, except that it's useful to see what others are saying about you!

You can turn them off but I wouldn’t turn them all off. I have mine set to comments and responses back to me the rest I have turned off.

Of course you can. The only thing you can't control here in the lot are people's answers and perception..
