Why Is It So Hard for Me to Find a Doctor I Like?

OK, to be honest, I really don't care if I like the doctor. But, it would be nice to find one that at least fits my personality.
I haven't had a physical in nearly 4 years because of this struggle. I'm not a big fan of taking pills because the side effects of those pills often are worse than what they are treating. Don't get me wrong, if I need to take a pill because I have a life-threatening condition and that's the only way to treat it, then I'm perfectly fine. But, it seems like every doctor I've given a chance to wants to write me out a prescription "just because."
For example, the last one I saw wanted to give me blood pressure medication as a precaution. My blood pressure wasn't high. But, it ran in my family so he figured I should start taking them sooner rather than later. I opted not to pick up the prescription and, so far, my blood pressure is still not an issue.
I had another one who wanted to run a bunch of lab tests on me but wouldn't tell me what they were for. I later did my own research and I'm convinced he thought I had some form of cancer because of an enlarged lymph node on my neck. Had he talked to me, I could have told him that had been of larger size since birth.
Also, I will be the first one to admit I could stand to lose 30 pounds. But, none of the last three doctors I saw even mentioned my weight or how losing it would improve my overall health. If they are afraid to talk to me about something as simple as that, how can I trust them?

I'm pretty sure that's not the case. I may be a bit picky but I'm old enough to remember having doctors who took the time to talk to you and am determined to find one like that.

Yes, @MALUSE is right. Talk and ask your doctor for you're paying him.
