A question for you teachers....

I see a lot of times teacher would preach more than they teach. If that sounds strange then I may be generalizing it because it has happened with me all my school and also in college. I remember in the college I was given a big lecture on what would I do in life as I failed to submit a small assignment on time for a subject named analog and digital communication. Besides , one common lines they use as weapon it is 'why do you waste parents` money if you do not wish to study??' I am sure there must be teachers going beyond teaching and counsel someone in understanding something like 'value of life' , 'life is a race'.Did you ever have such teachers or are you a teacher resembling to some of these signs??

I have been a teacher for 7 years. I only preach after I teach when I find out that my students failed.

Teachers, above all, must be good people.

@Nevena83 But they would always remain the same . There are myriad malpractices I would say in schools and colleges. Even pupils are scared so severely sometimes that they do not even openly express themselves to the teacher.

@parpande It's horrible. There is another problem here. Pupils behave terribly towards teachers.

Gladfully, I have not meet a teacher like that but I have heard some are doing that to their students.

@ShifaLk I can recall in high schools students would even thrash meritorious students of not scoring 95 or above 95. They must create good skills within the students rather they were urging to make a scoring machine or only encouraging to harvest 'book-smart' students.

My maths teacher in high school always counselled us. He's a figure I would love to imitate if I ever go into teaching

You remind of Viru Sahastrabudhhe from the movie 3 idiots with that 'Life is a race' words. Though the professors in college rolled their eyes and made short angry remarks if I did not submit the assignments on time, I'm lucky that they never counselled me like that.

@Sojourn You are lucky then but I was unfortunate to have few of the professors who haunts students and convey their second hand ideas on us to be followed religiously.
