Less Good Paying Surveys on Mechanical Turk

I've noticed that there are significantly less good-paying jobs and surveys on Amazon Mechanical Turk than there have been in recent months. I am concerned that the people who use it for their research papers are getting cheap. I noticed a 35 minute survey that only paid 30 cents, and I got fed up. If I do one survey a day that's a lot these days. Do any of you use Mechanical Turk? How do you get more surveys, or are you as fed up as I am?

I've not done any surveys there. Pretty much my tasks there were to transcribe data from receipts or from forms. I've cashed out $1.48 or something like that from there and have not done anything since. I am glad that Amazon Payments lets you cash out such a low amount.

Wow, Lena. I made it through the initial 1000 tasks/surveys so that I could earn more, and it was a real uphill battle. I've been on there since 2013. Why did you stop?

@Allyouneedislove I got tired of transcribing receipts and such, which pays pennies, and could not seem to find something else to do there.

@lovebuglena Yes, I agree, it can be very hard to find anything besides those tasks. When I was qualifying I found tasks that were for watching videos and doing research, too. Did you use the search/filter tool to find only the penny paying jobs?

I haven't used mechanical turk. Some surveys are actually annoying.

@florelway Yes, I've heard that it's harder to use MTurk in other countries, but I'd never heard about a quota. We have a new optional script on the top of our search window that offers you a goal to reach, but not a quota.

@Allyouneedislove it's actually quota of the survey sites. Once they reached number of respondents they will screen you out.

@Allyouneedislove sometimes you answer about 10 questions then they tell you they had reached quota and you don't get any point. Am on rakuteninsights so far better.
