The Team Building Was Enjoyable. Although. . .

We had our team building last June 14-15. It was held at Misibis Bay Resort in an island at Misibis, Bacacay, Albay. It was actually an affilliate company of ours. After taking our late breakfast, we had our orientation of the resort rules, then by the team building manager. The games were so challenging however, it was scorching hot. We started the amazing race by the 4 teams at the beach, then to the main part of the resort then ended on the beach – kayaking. We were all so sweaty because of the heat .We ended almost 12:30 in the afternoon already. Our “white” team got the last place . Ha ha ha One officemate, collapsed. After the teambuilding we rested at our assigned hotel rooms ( 4 persons per room) for one hour , then we has our recollection. In In my opinion, the recollection should have been done in a separate event. In the evening , was our Bohemian themed party by the beach and a band played beautiful music. The next day, we are on our own. Some went kayaking , Banana boating and a lot more. Most of us, took a swim in pools. After that , was a delicious lunch again, this time its buffet , not boodle fight anymore as in the picture. Had you ever joined team building activities or even a summer outing?

Looks like you had a very busy day there. Been there once when my sister treated us there for a couple of days. The ambiance is nice there but its very pricey there. And the place is secluded away from everything but the amenities were first class.

Yes, it's very pricey there. That's because mostly, the tourists from abroad or foreigners are their clients. It's in an island . Before, you have to take a barge in order to go to the other mountain in order to get to Misibis bay. But now, a very sturdy and beautiful bridge was constructed so the barge was gone. Is the building on the second of the third row, already there when you went there. That was constructed more than two years ago.

@SIMPLYD Yeah we took the bridge with our car to get there. It was a long and winding road and there was few cars that really passed through there. We stayed at the building that faces the sea. We stayed at the second floor.

@rsa101 So, the bridge was already constructed when you went there. I guess, you stayed at that two new 3 storey buildings.

What about when you were working in the company where your husband worked also. Didn't they have team building for the employees?

@SIMPLYD No, the company where I worked was an Administrative Office of a big American company, there were four associates and 3 employees only. We had lunch together time by time. Anyway there is not at all this habit in Italy.

@LadyDuck Oh, I see. I think Americans are not fond of activities like this because this is really a big expense. My brother- in- law works in US embassy and they don't have this summer outings.

@SIMPLYD You must be thankful to the owner of the company and pray that he should build more such resorts for your entertainment and team building exercise.

@dpk262006 Actually every year we have our summer outings. But this time it was a time building but we also were given the next day - morning to be on our own and choose whatever entertainment there is in the resort. Most of us chose to swim in the pool.

Yes, we are so lucky that the owner of our company is generous and so good to accord us a team builing as posh as this. Or should I say, it is a very nice thing that the owner of our company owns this very posh resort also so we got the teambuilding expenses so discounted, only US$1,019 per person only. We are 60 in all.

Yes, it's a very beautiful and exclusive resort in an island. It has dirty white sand. As employees, I know that teachers has lots of appreciation activities too. Though i know you didn't have summer outings because you are off on summers, as like all teachers here are with pay yet on vacation for 2 months during summer, when students are on vacation too.

@DianneN Yes, I am so thankful to God for this company I am employed in. That's what is nice with being a teacher aside from having a fulfilling job specially when the students go back to you to thank you and give you a treat and gifts when they were already professional.

@SIMPLYD I'm so happy you work for a wonderful company. Yes, when school os out in my state from June to the end of August, no teachers or students have to be there. We still get paid, because we have contracts for the entire year.

@amitkokiladitya No, all expenses by the company we work in. The resort is also owned by the owner of our company and our mall manager is also one of those who manages the resort. So she was able to discount the whole package.

So you had a enjoyable and memorable time with team mates. It is not so fun for games in this hot season. We used to summer outing many years ago. Thinking about the hot Sun we always cancel those plans.

Actually, every year we have our summer outing. Though, with this team building, the bus of the resort fetched us later than the 5:00 a.m. schedule that is why, when we arrived there, we are so late for our schedule and the sun was already scourging hot.

It is hard but enjoyable once your team have solved what is to be done to finish a difficult task for the group. It really needs everyone's cooperation.

We used to have team building for teachers once a year for two_three days before new session began. We would go to some nearby places but out of city and indulge in all fun. But it would not be a very expensive affair as we all contributed a part of it and rest was paid by school administration.

That's nice to know too. I know teacher do have their teambuilding too and they contribute and some expenses are from the admin, as it is a very expensive affair indeed. The company spent 5300 pesos or $1,019 for each employee for the teambuilding. We are 60 employees in all. Good thing, that the resort is an affiliate that is why it is a bit cheaper and only that per person. If not, our company cannot afford it.

I am happy to know that too. Our company's owner is the owner too of that first class resort too. That is why we got it for that bit cheap price per person.
