We have been having periods of heavy rain during the last few days. My living room had a creek flowing down the middle from flooding and I am running fans to try to dry it up. The rain is beautiful but the result of the rain is not so nice.
How is the weather where you live?

Me too. It is never fun. There used to be a drainage ditch to a retention pond. They cemented over the ditch and the water collects in front of my place. When I complained, they said I was the only one affected so they won't do anything.

Oh dear! I'm sorry about your indoor creek. Here it's been rainy, and unseasonably chilly

@akalinus Those fans will help a lot, just so long as the weather isn't humid

@Aansh13 I do live in Florida which is known for its hurricanes. Right now, I don't live near any big body of water but the wind and rain can do major damage. I came home from evacuation last year and my windows in front were twisted into interesting new shapes. I took pictures of two houses that were blown away, the pieces in fields and streets.

Today the sun is out for the first time in several days. Otherwise, we've gotten a lot of rain here too. We don't need anymore.

Right there with you! I'm in Florida too, and my street was like a lake today. When we get prolonged rains we get damp carpeting around the outside walls when the foundation gets completely wet. It happened a couple of times, but we got lucky and the rain finally stopped long enough for the foundation to dry out.
I'm sorry you've got a river a river in house. That's not fun. Pulling out the carpet would certainly be a project, but I've done it myself. get a good, strong carpet knife from Home Depot, with extra blades. Cut the carpet in little long pieces, roll them up, and tie with twine. Then you can put it out as you cut it up, and still be able to lift it even though it's wet. Smaller pieces is definitely the key.
I know this rain will be staying with us for at least the rest of the week. Have you moved your furniture? I once had a friend who went out and got milk crates and wood enough to perch her furniture up out of the flood.

I have a laundry basket turned upside down under my desk for all the electrical stuff to sit on. I try to keep stuff picked up. I was looking at knives on Amazon but they are for crafts and I seriously doubt that they would work for the rug. I was thinking the same as you, small strips of carpet cut out so they are easy to load in bags and discard. I will look up carpet knives.

@LowRiderX I hear you. Sometimes, it is really hard to breathe in extreme heat. I'm glad it is better for you now.

Ma'am our are also many such areas where there is a lot of devastation due to floods. Right now the floods in Assam and Bihar have spread a lot, due to which many people are worried, this is also a big disaster with Corona. Due to this, the normal people are facing a lot of trouble, Corona says you stay at home and the flood takes away the house, what should people eat in such a time
