So very sad.
The internet shines a lot of emphasis on the horrors bestowed upon Jewish people during WWII hoping to remind us that we shouldn't do that again but it does no good.
No governing agency lifts a finger to protect the rights of the indigenous peoples of the USA and Canada .... is it because they are not Jews?
The media gives indigenous peoples and their plight a nod now and then but that isn't enough. They have precious little left of their culture let alone their lands and sacred burial grounds. There must be something more people would be willing to do to help.
I am of meager means so my way of helping is spreading the word about their plight. Please, won't you help me spread the word?

@rebelann such link jest shows the funds 'n where such's 'pposed to go fer 2019. there's many'n poverty. low job skills, lil knowledge 'f their native ways, loads born to addicts'n sufferin' from that, etc. 'tis most 'ndeed not correct. but, the people 'lso need to view the 'pportunities they've got 'n grow 'pon that.

I don't see how we are ignoring their plight ? Don't they have temples and such here? I thought we are allies with Isreal so I guess I am not understanding what you saying.

Ok, that makes more sense @bunnybon7 Jewish people are not Native to the US, they immigrated like all the rest of the Europeans.

@rebelann that's true I know a souix family that moved near a reservation of that tribe so they could get help. that was yrs. ago and we often traded or paid them for government cheese and commodities cause they got so much and couldn't use it all and needed other things with it. we all heled each other. It was great. she was my best friend for 12 yrs then they moved back to North Dakota and we lost touch some how

That's the problem @bunnybon7 the Native American issues seem to focus on the Navajo when they aren't the only tribe that requires help.

From the way I understand it the Navajo tribe, probably the largest tribe in our nation, gets most of the bennies from the government. It just seems so discriminatory that the smaller reservations don't get as much help and they're the ones who need it most.

Posted this to facebook. I so wish that sustainable energies would take over the oil/gas monopoly.

So do I. Last year some joker called me about solar panels and I was all for it .... then he asked if I had a single or 2 story and I said I had a mobile home, he coughed and said they don't have a plan for anyone in a mobile home. What the hell is wrong with our country?? I can't be the only one in a mobile home that would love to get solar panels.

It isn't just native lands that are lost to the need for energy. If people want to save the land they need to cut down their use of fossil fuel and no one wants to do that. Well Yes AOC would ground all planes, trains and cars. I don't know about you, but where I live I would have to walk 5 miles to get groceries, we have no public transportation out here. So until they come up with an electric car that I can afford and that goes farther than 100 miles, I have to use gasoline. I heat my home with fuel oil which most people do around here, I live too far out to have natural gas and electric is too expensive. We have created a society that is dependent on oil so until that changes, nothing will change. Just my opinion.

I have an all electric mobile home, I'd never even heard of using oil to heat a home until I read these responses ..... I would think that because I live in the desert there is no real need to heat our homes for that long, mostly we are concerned about A/C to beat the heat in spring and summer.

Very well said. It is really sad all that their people and their culture as been through. It's no wonder they do not trust other people and are striving hard to keep their culture alive in their family and community.

I am praying it will work but they lose ground each day until one day our government will be responsible for genocide.
