I Just Saw Leonard Nimoy's Wife's Commercial Against COPD

Wow, I'm floored. I'd never seen a picture of Leonard Nimoy (best known for his role as Spock in Star Trek) in a wheelchair, hooked up to oxygen.
His wife made a commercial that said "Leonard was always worried about lung cancer. Who knew that it would be COPD that would take his life?"
Then the announcer said, "Quit smoking today!" and they mentioned a COPD foundation.
I'm still shocked. I've quit smoking but am using vaping to reduce my nicotine cravings. I was hoping to just stop, but it's harder than I thought. I wish I could use nicotine gum, but I have dentures now. I can't really afford the mints that they just came out with. Oh, and I refuse to use a mind-altering substance like Chantix. That stuff scares the pants off me.
What do you think?

I think I'm the lucky one, I quit smoking in 1988 cold turkey and never looked back. I had tried several times over the 20 years that I smoked and failed until then.

@Gillygirl Thanks, I had a severe lung infection at the time which makes me wonder if that is what helped me quit.
