Am I the Only One Who Disagrees with Researchers About Dodgeball?

I was reading an article today about the game dodgeball and how some schools are banning it and researchers are describing it as something that "dehumanizes" and "oppresses" people.
Am I missing something here? Did they change the rules of the game after I left school or something?
What I remember about dodgeball is the exact opposite. I always thought it was the great equalizer when it came to gym class. You didn't need to be the fastest or strongest to play it and, unlike other sports, pretty much anyone could win at it. Heck, I still occasionally play against my daughters in the back yard because of this.
What's next? An effort to ban golf because carrying clubs is too caveman-like?

our schools have now banned it.
it's mainly because of the lil jerk kids that aim right for the face..and because possibly being last picked causes "trauma" to the snowflake generation.
..it's funny..in the 70's if you got nailed in the face, they just told you to suck it up and get over it.i know 50 year olds that'll still jump if they hear that ball noise.

With supervision... I don't see what there is to object to!! Our school prohibits throwing snowballs. Sure kids can get hurt, but we all did it!!

I agree, it should not be banned. I was never athletic and didn't like playing it, but I know many who liked it and people should be able to play it if they want.

Dodgeball was one of my favorite games when I was growing up in the 1970's. I think I turned out fine.
