Do we need to sugarcoat it?

Bad news was not reported as real. What are the consideration of hiding it to the public? Do you hear or watch news, which is in fact seriously bad but reported to be less unpleasant? Is sugarcoating necessary for certain situations just to make the hearers less shocked?

This mostly happens when financial results are announced by government.just before elections.

@yanzalong I like to read in my case the news online from a certain news place because I believe that they tell us the truth. I like the truth even though it is hard to read.

the answer is positively yes, in our daily communication, some times sugarcoating is really necessary to make people comfortable, have your ideas more easily being accepted. However, we need our government to report data or things truly as it actually is, so we ordinary people can know about the true world.

It all depends on the situation and whether the listeners are strong enough to bear it.
