Make passion as your career , do you agree?

Always I had had been hearing from parents and those individuals who favor child`s passion as the career. This has been a decade while it started to become more adaptive ever since the movie 'Taare Zameen per' released and I did like the movie with out any doubt. It does make sense to choose an occupation one is passionate about but student study various subjects that they may/may not like in schools and colleges. Besides, the same paradigm is observed in workplace also as the employee work on different tasks regardless of their liking and therefore versatility is expected. I watched a video of a standup comedian , he said many people are successful today for the reason of not mixing passion and profession. I think he also sounds true though he was running through a comedy script. What is your stand on this ??
