Are You Fond of Eating in a Buffet Restaurant?

Chinese buffet restaurant

My friends are fond of going to a Chinese buffet restaurant. I am not fond of it as I can't eat much. I am always tempted to go with my friends to a buffet restaurant because I can have many variations of seafood which I don't normally buy or cook at home. Seafood is expensive here in Germany and to see the price of seafood, put off my appetite to eat them. The last time we were in a buffet restaurant was during the baptismal celebration of my friends' daughter. The photo is above. What kind of food do you usually eat from the Chinese buffet restaurant? Meat, veggies or seafood. What about the entree and the dessert? Thanks for reading and good night. See you tomorrow.

No, I am not a fan of buffets, I prefer a nice restaurant where I am served, I eat very little. In Chinese restaurants I usually order seafood and vegetables.

@LadyDuck Wow! Those are good variations in your cooking. I cook 3 times German food, 2 times Italian and 2 times Asian food in a week.

The same with me @LadyDuck. I also prefer to be served when dining out. Seafood and vegetables are delicious at the Chinese restaurant but I only go to a Chinese restaurant with my friends who are fond of eating Chinese food. I usually cook Asian food twice to 3 times a week and so why bother when I can have it at home.

@thelme55 I do not like going to a buffet anymore because I cannot eat much. I prefer going to a restaurant and then taking the left overs home to eat for another meal or two.I like Chinese food.

Here in the US we have serval kind of buffets. We don’t do Chinese any more because of my 4 year old having a gluten allergy so it makes it hard to go to places like that do to across contaminated.

I understand that @JustBhem. Maybe it is better if you eat in a restaurant being served and it is cheaper for you as you can order the small version of the menu.

I do like buffet style. We have a couple of local Chinese ones, and there are a couple of places that incorporate buffet salads but you have to order mains. There is a nice place that would, I think, be called 'fusion'. It has a range of Chinese, Indian, Italian, English, Japanese, etc. I like it for a few reasons. Firstly, because it's one set price so that makes it easy to budget! Second, I often want to try lots of things or don't know if I want/like something so it's nice to try a bit of everything. Finally, it is good value, especially if you have a good appetite. If I go with my two teenage boys, it's guaranteed that we will get our money's worth! It is nice to try things I don't make at home. Seafood is expensive here, too, but I do love it. It would be nice to see some similar places with different cuisines. I really like Japanese food and, although Japanese restaurants seem to be gaining popularity, there are none that are full buffet. It would also be good to have one that delivers to me! I can get pretty much anything else but not Japanese!

I agree with you. There are not only Chinese but also Italian, German, Spanish and Greeks buffet here in the city where I live but I think Japanese buffet is only in Düsseldorf where lots of Japanese live and work. I love to try other food from different countries and so a buffet is actually good for testing foreign food. Thank you very much for your wonderful comment @pumpkinjam. Have a wonderful week.

@thelme55 I work in a large city where there a few places starting to pop up. Japanese cuisine seems to be getting more popular. They are still mostly in the big cities, though.

@thelme55 you'd be amazed how many people pick things up with their hands regardless of how many utensils you leave out.i'm always having to throw things out at work when i do the breakfast room because of that.if they touch it and don't take it,you have to throw it off the line immedietly.

That is most of our problem eating in a buffet restaurant @rakski. We can´t eat so much and there is a chance of getting sick by too much eating.

Only Chinese buffets like the one you are talking about. I’m a picky eater and ‘normal’ buffets usually don’t have much I like. Chinese ones often have sushi and clams and oysters though.
