What is a Professional Grocery Shopper?

As some of you know, I am currently watching MasterChef and I’m on Season 9 at the moment. I wonder about one Home cook who is a Professional Grocery Shopper. I wonder if this is a job or a hobby because this is the first time I encounter this. Is anyone of you here knows what is this? Please share.

And they are paid for it? I wonder will they be in demand with all online grocery shops available that do home delivery.

I had heard they are doing that here in the PH. But I think their clients are their friends and family members who can't go grocery shopping because of busy schedule.

I am encountering it for the first time. But since professional is added to it I presume that it is a job. Not sure what they do.

In my opinion I think it is about the ability of a person on how he/she can budget the money and can buy many ingredients.. and knows a lot of things/knowledge about every priduct that he/she will buy. Just my thought :)
