My neighbor in the apartment next to me seemed to be having a problem with bees. Early yesterday morning a guy dressed in a beekeeper outfit showed up, took the panels off of the wall of her apartment, drilled some holes did some stuff I could not see and then left. The bees swarmed around angrily throughout most of the day before accumulating in a spot about 10 feet from their original location. It just so happened to be my back porch. Thankfully I do not use my back porch much but I am hoping they will move elsewhere. If they are not gone by tomorrow I will have to contact my landlord. In the mean time, I have been checking up on them through the window of my back door. They are rather interesting little things to watch so close up. Normally I keep my distance from bees due to being deathly allergic to their stings but this has given me an opportunity to watch them safely from a short distance. Still, I would rather they leave and find a nice place to call home somewhere else. What are your experiences with bees?

@things4gottenI remember my high school days while someone threw a stone on a beehive very near to our classroom window . Almost everyone came out of the class and especially girls were screaming like hell.

@parpande Did you end up screaming? Or were you one of the ones laughing?

I would have probably been screaming and running along with them had I found myself in that same place at the same time.

I am always in a panic when bees or wasps get inside and have to call a neighbor for help.

I've been stung a couple times, but generally they don't bother me. I just tell them I have no news for them and they go away.

@things4gotten I guess if you say, "Hey, gals!" first, you'd only have to say it once, (Bees are all female.)

@BarBaraPrz There might be a few drones in there so there might be some males. The majority are female for sure... Though would it be 'gals' or 'gal' considering they have a hive mind?

How cute! Maybe I should start doing that when they come around me! How many times do you think I have to tell these guys outside my door to get them to go away? XD

Hopefully they'll find a new home a but further away. Please be careful not to be stung. I hope you have an Epipen nearby.

I think I should be fine so long as I do not go out the back door at the moment.

Agreed. In an ideal world I will stay away from them, and they stay away from me and everything will be fine.

I heard a lot of stories about an aggressive kind that attacked people and animals as a kid so it probably didn't help me with my fear of them. They are awesome at making honey though!
